Bangkok Baking Company keeps it’s supremacy

Recommendation

I love Thai food, but when it comes to my patisserie fix I prefer the western way. There are plenty of places to choose from in Bangkok, but not that many who give value to the money spent. Bangkok Baking Company is one of those who does, in a city where you sometimes feel there are more coffee bars than Taxis. And Bangkok really have a lot of Taxis.

Pleasant and casual atmosphere at Bangkok Bakery Company

The Bangkok Baking Company has a great comfy atmosphere with a stylish interior and an outdoor garden seating, facing the bustling Sukumvit Road. Situated in the 5 star Mariott Hotel at the corner of Sukhumvit Soi 2, it serves it’s customers well. A menu with Thai and international dishes including pastas and pizzas, but most of all, lovely cakes and a coup of Illy just as it should be made. Full bodied with an excellent balance of bitterness and sweetness.

A large espresso and a wet tower.

But first, one of those things I really appreciate with the Bangkok Bakery Company is the wet tower that comes with your order. Entering the venue from a heathy and humid Bangkok, a treat like that is just what you need to get yourself fixed for a comfortable sit-down. A habit that other venues with a purpose of entering the cafe scene with some style should pick up on. It’s  a simple but efficient treat with minimum cost.

Bangkok Baking Company is a cafe style eatery with a casual atmosphere and a professional service. It has been my preferred Cafe for the last 10 years. And I have to admit, the pastries and cakes are just fantastic. And I don’t think anything will change that in the visible future.

Carrot Cake & Blueberry cake

Mango and cottage cheese cake, hot mocha and a cappuccino.

My preferred option is the blueberry cheese cake. The sweet and slightly acidic blubbery meets the fatter cheese and lifts the cake to something that must be close to the perfect cheese cake, just melting on your tongue. There’s definitively nothing wrong with the other cakes either, my preference is just with the Blueberry cheese cake. But sometimes i also order the Mango with cottage cheese or one of the chocolate cakes. They are all delicious.

The price level is higher than many spots not connected with a supreme hotel, but still affordable if you can avoid it to be a daily habit. Specially when considering the high quality they deliver time after time, being the cake or the coffee. A sandwich with smoked salmon, a blubbery cheese cake, a mango with cottage cheese cake, one large espresso, one cappuccino and a hot mocha is 600 Bath. For a westerner that is affordable, but if on a Thai salary that’s definetively on the high side considering the much lower salaries in Bangkok and Thailand. But as a sweet reward on some occasions, EscortNavi it can be done. You will struggle to find anything better in the city of angels.
